16th SJA Inter-batch Basketball Tournament
Christmas 2002

Sixteen years ago, the first SJA Inter-batch Basketball Tournament took place. It was sponsored by SJA Batch '86. This year, 2002, the tournament's host is BATCH '97, with the theme 'KEEPING THE FIRE BURNING'.

After months and even years of preparations, the tournament started on December 8, 2002. Instead of the usual parade during the day, the Opening Parade started at 6:00 p.m. as darkness fell. Fourteen teams representing fourteen batches paraded around town with torches. An opening program was held at the town basketball court with Atty. Ariel Igoy as guest speaker.

The tournament lasted up to the last days of the year 2002. For the whole tournament more than 30 games were played. The closing program and the awarding ceremonies was held on January 2, 2003. The guest speaker was Mayor Joji Ilio.
