![]() A group of US based collegiate basketball players known as Ventures for Victory came to Malinao to play a friendly game of basketball against the best Malinao could offer. This American team is very tall, the shortest among them was six feet. On August 6, 2003 at 6 p.m. the town plaza started to fill up. After a short program the game started. A minute into the game the electric current was cut. The game was stopped because there was no light. During the brown out nag-asaw-asaw (it drizzled). Dayon hay nag-uean (then the rain poured). Nag-oeoli ro mga tawo (people went home). Nag-oeoli lang man ro mga Americano (the Americans then left as well). Sayang a. This is the first time that a foreign team had played in Malinao. It was Nick Z. Labasug, a pastor of the Assemblies of God, who brought this team to Malinao. Next time na lang daw they will give priority to Malinao when the V for V comes back to the Philippines.
Here are the few pictures taken during that game. Even the pictures
ay palpak. Karamihan ay malabo. Patas ro hampang ay owa matapos.
The running score when the game stopped was 6 for V for V, 0 for Malinao.
