I Reloj, Jr. The Malinaonons of California proudly celebrated their town fiesta for the first time in America on May 3, 2003, at the spacious residence of Job and Adelfa Ipanto Fernandez in Escondido, with some tears of joy from heaven. The rain fell intermittently all day yesterday, but this didn't dampen the exuberance of the Malinaonons and their special guests. Judging from the numbers who participated from Las Vegas, Nevada, San Jose, Santa Clara, Tracy, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, National City, Lemon Grove, and Escondido, California, they accomplished in record time something far beyond their wildest imagination.




Malinaonons all: Mga Beauties and Beasts from left to right : Frauline Salazar Reloj, Claudio Zuniga, Precy L. Zuniga, Racel Irabon Dumlao, Virginie Yabut Vasquez, Velma Yerro Sevilla, Noel Ibardolaza, Mila Ibardolaza (wife of Noel), Girlie Irabon Abella, Hedelyn Ipanto Pfander, Claire Yabut Rino, Charity Yabut Nadal, Velvet Yabut Lague, and Martin Ipanto.

This was an idea that started with an e-mail of love CC: mMalinao at yahoogroups.com from precylin at hotmail dot com Monday, 31 Mar 2003 21:48:02 that finally came to reality. "Kun hin-uno manlang abi kita nagakililita ag pa-eangtan man kita maka-uli sa aton agod makapamyesta. Bu-eong ra sa atong nga kahidlaw."

The cyberspace was inundated for weeks with the interchange of e-mails from addresses of Malinaonos on the world wide web.

There were many highlights to note: starting with the arrival of the first guest - from, of all places, Germany, friends of the Ipanto-Pfander family of San Diego; Pag-abi abi sa mga bisita; Lunch; Celebration of the Holy Mass officiated by Fr. Valenciano; Entertainments Galore: Group singing from the "Impromptu Singers" of San Diego, "Nonoy Nadal and the Yabut Sisters from Northern California, and the Thespians from Hollywood on the set depicting a homicide scene including an operatic interpretation in both English and Aklanon; Welcome address by Navy Chief Job Fernandez; Vocal Solo by Jade I. Fernandez; Parade of Malinao Fiesta 2003 Muses - Racel Irabon Dumlao, Santa Barbara, Hedelyn Ipanto Pfander, San Diego, Velvet Yabut Lague, Santa Clara, Rose Yerro Tugnaw, Los Angeles and Rosabella Imperial Valins of San Jose California; Crowning of Ms. Hedelyn Ipanto Pfander, Queen of Malinao Fiesta U.S.A. 2003; A la Frank Sinatra "May Way" solo by Bong Agnes; Inspirational Speech from Charity Yabut Nadal, President of MBIS, Malinao Brotherhood Improvement Society; Binayle - dancing the night away! and Jamming songs with Racel Dumlao, Noel Ibardolasa on the guitars and Jun Reloj on the bandoria.Ê Songs of bygone days - oldies but goodies: Greenfields, Unforgettable, When I Fall in Love, Unchained Melody; Diana, Elvis songs, Tagalog and Visayan medleys, and current hits, Small World and the Power of Love, but "Oyang" was the sentimental favorite.
