Every year the whole country is holding a Nutrition Month Celebration. This is to focus our attention to the sorry state of nutrition of our people. Indeed, the well-being of the populace is a primary concern not only of the government but of the community as well. The Municipality of Malinao, through its local government, is very supportive of the program to eradicate malnutrition. It has undertaken all the activities suggested by the higher authorities in connection with the celebration of the month of July as Nutrition month. Every year these activities are being participated by our people, if only to stress that we have to be reminded of the need to improve the nutrition of the populace.
It is almost automatic to us that come July we have to celebrate nutrition month. It is my vision that in the future we would not need to celebrate nutrition month. This could only be achieved if our nutrition programs succeed, and more importantly, the standard of living of our people have reached a level wherein proper nutrition becomes the norm. Nutrition Month Celebration then becomes irrelevant. I hope that day will come in our lifetime. Program of Activities and Pictures

All over the Philippines, June 12 is celebrated as our Independence Day. Malinao had a simple celebration for this day. A flag raising ceremony was held at 8:00 AM with policemen, employees and officials attending. Then wreaths were laid on our three visible symbols of independence in Malinao - the monument of Candido Iban, the monument of Jose Rizal, and the monument for the World War II veterans. For this year, the slogan of independence day is "Bayan ko, sagot ko."
